baby showers

I have been lucky to be invited a few baby showers, and I wanted to share the crafts I made to celebrate their new lives.
The first family was going for a neutral, travel themed nursery, and I took inspiration from that. I recycled some materials to make two hot air balloons, mostly using: clear plastic globes covered in maps, wire, decorative rocks, string, and mini wood baskets.

I think my favorite project of this gift; I took an old globe and punched holes around the continents and put a lightbulb in the top! (Scroll down to see a photo of it lit up)

I hand painted a puzzle and a mini trinket box to match the theme:

I ironed on a patch or a design to some onesies:

Of course, bought some irresistibly cute accessories, put all of this into a thrifted trunk, and voila!

This gift was a hit at the party, both with the recipients and even with the other guests, which gave me a huge boost of confidence.
The next baby shower I was in charge of planning for a male coworker whose wife was pregnant. I did not know his wife, and she unfortunately wasn’t going to be able to attend the party we were throwing so it was themed for him- retro video games. I made gift boxes and a table cloth that were Mario themed, and cookies from Legend of Zelda.

He was big into coding and chess, so I wanted to make him some onesies that he probably wouldn’t be able to find in stores.

Onesies are where I really hit my stride with the cricut, and I took on another baby shower for a family that is in the construction business. We made some super cute designs with this concept in mind, for days she might be on site with her dad:

The customer (grandpa) had purchased a onesie with a specific piece of equipment on it but wanted a few details to really make it pop.

We added the “Kruse” on the machine, all the words, hearts, and smiley faces, and my favorite part, the “peek-a-boo” jokes on the inside. Speaking of…

They also had some family from out of state, so we made them one for part of their gift.

Another uncle got a matching one:

Last but not least for this order, the customer wanted a shirt for himself.

My most recent baby shower was for another baby girl, this time with no real theme. I worked with the customer to come up with a few cute designs:

The father loves football so we kept him in mind too:

And my first bib:

Which is the same design as the one in my portfolio.
